Dog attack - Ellie dislocated toe - me, broken bones UPDATE

Those are some sweet pictures of your pets! I love to see them at peace sunbathing. Hope your hand improves some soon too.

I'm glad that Ellie is doing well. Get yourself into that physical therapy. We want you well too. As for the lawyer, be patient. A good personal injury lawyer won't let the insurance company settle until he/she knows the cost and longevity of your injuries.

Judy - what a sweet pic of your birds! Where'd you get that sunshine from? Ellie is beautiful, even with her crooked toe, and your BJ - he's gorgeous! Good luck with everything....

I'm bumping because JJ, havn't seen or heard from ya in a while. How is your hand? How is Ellie doin?

Here in Ok it is against the law to divert water to another's property or change a natural waterway. If the neighbors did this contact an lawer. You might end up owning those lots!

Thanks so very much everyone, for the kind wishes and for checking in to see how things are

I've been so slow - to update, or do most anything... with the one hand out of commission since the dog attack and also a very bad hip from the attempts at diverting flood water from the law-breaking 'neighbor'. Hard to walk, very slow once I get going.

Ellie, thankfully, is doing okay but will now permanently have her middle toe turned toward the side (the vet splinting/taping for 3 weeks didn't correct things but hopefully allowed it to settle down a bit..). She gets around but does hold her foot up when she's not busy using it, so I know it bothers her

When she's really busy she overrides that and runs, eats, sunbathes, even dust bathes. I cringe when she clumsily runs down the deck steps, landing indelicately, eager to get to me! She follows me EVERYWHERE. Hopefully in time her foot/toe will hurt less and not more. She is otherwise a very happy girl, with BJ roo tending to her every whim, and mom giving them both lots of TLC and good treats. I love these birds.

My hand did not heal after the routine 6 weeks - that is, it won't close into a fist (it's stuck open) so I am in PT for it as of a couple of weeks ago. They pull on and bend your fingers until you want to sell your soul just to get them to stop and then immerse the hand in very hot wax, again and again. I decided this is something that irresponsible dog owners should have to do.

nn, the water diversion to my property is illegal here too but the town has neglected to enforce the rules/laws despite public pressure to do so from many and unfortunately, the lawyers I've spoken to, and I've spoken to many, all want enormous retainers (tens of thousands). Unfortunately, I don't have the money. It's a very strong, clear case and I kept hoping to find a land use lawyer who would take the case on contingency but I have not been successful. Now with all the injuries from attempting to divert the water to save my house I don't know if they'd be more inclined (that is, maybe the addition of personal injury to property damage would intrigue them or maybe it isn't recoverable - I have no idea...)...The darn hand thing has detoured me from making progress on any of this as I'm barely getting to the most basic things..

Will keep you all posted as I learn more about the legal end of the dog attack matter in the hopes the info will help somebody else. I haven't heard from the attorney essentially since he signed me up though I know he doesn't plan to make any claim until we know the extent and duration of injury.

You guys are the best.
