Dog attack! (Graphic Pictures)

hello! Thank you for keeping us updated on Clementine! I am here to tell you that creaky or crunchy sounding joints are arthritis. I just listened to my knees as I was getting into bed this evening.😂😂😂🤣 Something else to consider is how she is laying, if her joint is bent under her, the circulation can be reduced, causing swelling as well. Not that it is anything you can do anything about it. An orthopedic bed? My girls sleep perched. Not sure they would know how to lay down but then again, they surprise me everyday!

A very special “thank you” for being such a good chicken mom. I am confident Clementine appreciated everything you have done for her! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ty! The bed is for while she continues to stay inside while healing. I tried perches indoors and she refused them.

The sore/scab area is now only about as big as my thumb! Not sure what's happening with her leg?

Looks like it's healing. Is she putting weight on the leg?

Could she have scraped her leg on the inside somehow to cause this injury? The timing is odd...
She died yesterday afternoon. :(

I took her outside for just a bit, stayed with her...brought her in and made her a nice lunch. She was eating it when I walked away and came back to check on her 30 minutes later and she was gone. Just like that. :(

I had actually thought she's be ok. I always get to hopeful and things end badly.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Clementine! My heart aches for you. You provided her the best opportunity to survive a horrific injury. We all had hope that she would pull through. I am so sorry! God Bless! 🙏🙏❤️🙏🙏

Thank you all.
I am terrible at raising chickens. I started with nine a year and a half ago and now I have four. I love these birds but am clearly doing something horribly wrong. The attack may not be my fault but the rest had assumed liver issues. On top of that, within this last year, my dog and cat passed away (tehey were older) and my husband left me and took my teenage son, who couldn't care less that I exist. I really wanted Clementine to survive, to finally get something right and be able to actually help her. I cannot seem to keep anyone.

Sometimes life is messy and nothing seems to flow right. :hugs

Next year will be better. I am sure of it.
