Dog attack! (Graphic Pictures)

Pics
I am now, yes. I was doing that at first, then vet said to stop so I stopped, and back at it now. It's the feeling of dead skin. Is that bad?

In the most recent picture it doesn't look dried out. Just keep at it with the ointment and be super patient with the healing process. It takes an extremely long time to heal.

Is she still acting like a chicken?
Eating well, scratching about, moving well?

Below is the picture of my hen that was scalped. I don't have a picture of when it happened, but her skull was visible. This picture was about 5 or 6 weeks after it happened, feathers just starting to come in. The scab was very thick when it healed over and gradually came off from the edges in. I flushed it out well initially and kept it covered in plain triple antibiotic ointment until it was completely scabbed over, and kept her crated in the run until it was no longer at risk of being pecked by others. Once the feathers were fully in, you could not tell anything had happened, she looked completely normal.
I will attach a link that has some pictures of other wounds healing, for reference of what they can look like also.

She ate very well today. The crop, in the morning, isn't totally empty but probably 90 percent. I'm not sure how concerning that is?

I bought her some rugs because my floors are so slippery. She's been up and about more. Are some lettuce today, preening, being silly. There's not much to scratch at though in the bedroom!

Ty!!

One thing I'm noticing...most of the pics I'm seeing are wounds that do NOt go down the neck. The area where she turns her neck a lot is cracking open some and had minimal blood. I sprayed Vetericyn and then put triple antibiotic ointment. Any other advice there?

The ointment should help keep it soft and from cracking too much. Since that is a spot that is going to flex more, it's more of a problem. Don't be afraid to put a fairly thick layer of ointment on. I did the same thing for my kids when they were little and had skinned knees that would crack from flexing, keeping vaseline on those helped a lot. Eventually it will heal enough that it will stop happening.

Ok. Just put a layer of triple antibiotic ointment and then raw, organic honey on top.

Please help. She's bleeding quite a bit, more than one spot. Can't seem to stop it. Using cornstarch
