Let me tag some Educators. Odor may indicate the need for antibiotics, and that's beyond the realm of my knowledge.

Okay, good news/bad news. I took her outside to have better lighting for the pics and I found the problem area. (Pic to follow but typing on my computer and pics from phone). The dark area on top..originally look like a piece of fat/tissue, but now has shrunk and hardened so I am able to move it. I was treating topically and when I moved it for the pics, it looks like her skin pulled back and she has a whole pocket under there that I didn't see. So, I will certainly use any advice you give, but I am assuming I need to pull that back, irrigate it with sterile saline and then apply iodine followed by Neosporin. I'm not sure how well I am going to be able to get in there but I'll have to do my best...any other suggestions appreciated.A wound that smells bad needs to be cleaned really well.
I would use Chlorhexidine or Povidone Iodine to clean the wound, apply triple antibiotic to the wound.
Do you have photos of the wound that smells?
