I have a dog that just wont stop killing my chickens! I keep him up when the chicks are loose but my boyfriend let him out the other night and he killed 2 and hurt my rooster very badly. A huge chunk of feathers were pulled out of his back but he has no other visible wounds I can find. He is unable to walk at all, scoots himself around with his wings but his legs just wont work. I'm keeping him in the house with me, he's eating and drinking fine. I don't have vet $ and I don't know what to do, I've read stories on here where they bounce back, how long should I let him go on like this?

Cull the poor bird.
Next is better communication between humans regarding when the birds are loose so that future instances are avoided. It sounds like you have a dogproof enclosure that they birds are kept in at other times, if the humans are not trainable, the birds may need to be in it at all times.

Have you checked in the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures section? You will probably find good answers there; the mods will likely move this thread there before long, anyway.

I'm afraid all I can do is offer some general observations. What you are describing sounds like a spinal injury. If the nerves of the spine have been damaged enough, the bird may never regain the use of his legs.

I agree with Ol Grey Mare. It's very unlikely that you will be able to re-train the dog; keeping a solid barrier (or the distance of several miles) between it and the chickens seems like your only option.
