I think I need to clarify that the kittie cage is IN the barn that the chickens also live in, its secure from coons. The dog sleeps in there too but we just put her in at night. The kitties were raised with a BIG dog around them, and shes a nice dog, but they hiss at Emma which I think makes her mad because we have never had a cat that hissed at her before. She's doing a little better, just having them in the cage where she can watch, sniff, check them out but not reach them. She's still not ready to make nice if we take them out though

Now lets be serious. Try petting the dog get the dogs scent on your hands and pet the kitties a lot and get your scent on them it should be ok after a few days. By the way how old is the dog? She just needs to get your smell on them.

My sisters father in laws doxie kills full grown cats, I wouldn't push their being together or your kittens won't be long for this world. They are a very unusual breed, I would rather work with a pit bull when I did animal rescue than a doxie.

Aww, poor kitties.....I have found doxies to be this way. My g-mas dog will kill anything that hits the ground, and he is so nippy!

Maybe your girl says she is retiring from rearing kittens

Update, she's being less agressive. Still worries me cause she will take that tail-straigh-up hunting stance if the kitties move too fast, but shes licking them now instead of trying to bite if we hold them for her. Hopefully we are going to be able to at least keep her from eating them, they dont have to be best friends just alive!

Just be wary of course. My friends dachshund is about four and has lived with cats most his life. He just killed two kittens about a week and a half ago now. Hopefully yours will turn out happier!
