Dog bite on 15 week old

Update: I took photos. They look horrible. Like the wound looks awful. The yellowing is from the iodine and there is still a feather stuck inside the wound. The edges look like they are healing though and maybe I should apply triple antibiotic 3x daily instead??
Today instead of flushing I decided to just use a cotton ball soaked in diluted iodine. I’ve read confusing information on long term use to internal organs/deep wounds and I’m unsure of what’s true or not and I don’t wanna hurt him.
I’m still applying triple antibiotic and I do both morning and evening.
I’ve upgraded him to a larger enclosure in my laundry room to give him more space. I felt like he was just living in poop so now he has at least has much more room now and had made a poop side away from his food and water.
He didn’t want to deal with me this morning - not mean but evading me and staying in the back of the kennel.

here are the photos:

ignore how my laundry room looks the bookshelf is not ours to touch so…anyways I’ve covered him up more for the nigh

I understand. I have a cockatiel and use special scissors when I clip his wings. At least tweezer them out of the wound
Oh that was horrible 😭😭😭😭
They had stuck to the scab of the healing wound so I had to basically rip them off and caused him to start bleeding. Basically ripped a forming scab off and he’s definitely hurting now but I did it and it’s now done and out of there.

Dude, this chicken has to make it at this point. It is destined to live I think, and if not well it was meant to be here for as long as you keep it going! Impressive. 9/10 of us on here likely would have said "man, that's tough" and moved on. You're the 1/10 we all need by our side when it's us on the operating table
You are too kind 😭🥰
I’ve seen some crazy things heal on dogs/cats that most people would say was a goner.
I was lucky to work under an amazing doctor (Dr. T Rolland) who refused to give up on anything. And I watched so many other doctors criticize her and then have to take their words back.
I feel that if you can control infection and keep food/water going in and out then you should be able to heal anything!

Hibiclens is the best possible thing for cleaning wounds on people and animals and important to always have in you cabinet. As somebody else suggested Chorohexadine is possible but Hibiclens will continue to kill ALL bacteria, viruses, yeast and fungi in a wound for a full 24 hours after a 10 minute application and rinse! It's in the wound care section at the pharmacy. It's what we, surgeons use to scrub with before surgery. It personally saved my pinkie when it got caught in a hedge trimmer and orthopedic guy wanted to amputate it. Won me $100 in a bet LMBO

I'm sorry it was tough for both of you, but I'm sure you agree it had to be done. Now it can heal properly

I do have it as well! In animal surgery we use both prior to cutting. A rotation of iodine then chorohexadine back and forth. But that’s usually on the closed skin.
I will switch over to the hibiclens in the morning.
