Don't give up on her. Put her in a small cage or crate to herself so she will be still and quiet and protect her from other birds. I use an antibiotic blood stop powder to protect and dry the wound. Watch that she doesn't pick herself. Unless the wound is beyond the muscle and affects internal organs, joints or bones she should heal okay. Chickens are tough old birds! Good luck!!

My husband and I sewed her up last night. It was quite a wound, almost took off her whole hind end. The local feed store was awesome. We got all we needed ... antibiotics, needle, instructions... Hopefully she'll pull through. She's off on her own during the day and sleeps with her buddies in the coop at night. Thanks for all the posts.
