Hello, one of my one year old hens was severely attacked by a dog that managed to get in my fenced in yard . I cleaned her wounds and have it covered so she won’t be pecked at. If I keep her in a separate area at night, do you think it’s safe to let her roam around the yard during the day? Luckily she is eating, drinking and seems to be acting normal! Just hate for her to be cooped up if it’s not necessary. thanks!

You also want to avoid fly strike. I would keep her inside until any wounds scabs over if there are open and so you can clean and apply antibiotic to the wounds twice daily.
