My rooster got attacked by my neighbors older dog a week ago, all I could see was puncture wounds to his back. I have been applying Neosporin and vetericyn spray twice daily. Some of the wounds have yellow drainage but the skin around them looks ok. My main problem is he is barely eating, I have been hand feeding him scrambled eggs and syringe dropping poultry cell. Any ideas on how to get him back to normal? I have not noticed any blood in his poop, when he does poop it’s a very small amount and it’s a bright yellow and green. The photo is a picture of the day he got injured.
I don’t have much advice on this subject but cleaning the area often should help deter infection and neosporin is often a good idea for dog bites (from what I’ve heard) Any change in poop is most likely effect of lack of eating but I don’t know if there could be another issue. Please update on how he’s doing and I wish you luck!
