I have a bag of masa that I want to use up.
Do any of you know how to make dog cookies?

Round Masa Cakes
1 1/3 Cups Masa Harina
2/3 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
Salt Substitute (sprinkling)
1/4 Cup Canola Oil
1 Cup Chicken Broth (maybe more)

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F. Stir together masa harina, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt substitute. Add oil and enough broth to make the dough a consistency that's easy to work with (start with 1 Cup and add more if you like) - stir.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 to 12 times. Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick and cut with the mouth of a sturdy drinking glass. (Or... If you are lazy like me, just roll out the dough on the cookie sheet and run the pizza cutter through it.)
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Note: These cakes can be served as part of a meal or given as a treat.
