Dog eating eggs!!

I recently got a new chicken coop I let my chickens free range while leaving the coop door open so they can lay their eggs. This last week I noticed a decrease in eggs one day I had none at all...pretty sure (99%) that my young dog (since she can get to them with this new coop) is eating the eggs!! Has anyone came across this problem or have any suggestions? Here is a pictire of my coop

You are absolutely correct that your pup is most likely eating the eggs, there is even a formal title known as 'An egg sucking dog'. Eggs are very good for dogs, they promote a healthy coat and thick fur, some advise feeding an egg a day, raw or cooked.

You should prevent your pup from having access to your coop though, or this could become a real problem in the future, even if your dog doesn't develop a 'taste' for your chickens, he could begin to see them as play toys.
