Dog emergency

Could she have bitten by something? I am in Illinois, and I have seen snakes hit on the roads already . . .that would cause swelling and limping and pain.

We think a snake or something bit her. She is still a little "off" this morning but is doing much better. We have our eye on her.

I'm glad your dog is doing better. I grew up in an area that had a lot of copperheads and I raised hunting dogs. My grandpa taught me this and it seemed to help when they got bitten (but who really knows) : try this if it happens again Mix 2 RAW eggs with maybe 1/2 cup of milk and feed to your dog (most of the time they really lap it up) . Grandpa said it would "draw" the poison. I'm sure veterinarians would say it is a bad idea, but it did seem to work. Also like any "folk" remedy it may or may not help but I credit it with saving several of my best dogs because we lived about 1 1/2 hrs. away from a vet.
