Had it been 5 minutes earlier she may not have caught it. Five minutes later, she would have killed it. I let two of my Kangal out to patrol the coops in the afternoon heat - they go out only intermittently when it is so hot. I just happened to walk outside to see one of them with something in her mouth. She dropped it when I told her and I ran to pick him up. A baby piglet, not more than a couple of pounds. He was in shock but not physically hurt. Got him to take a bottle a few hours later. Sweet, sweet little boy.

What an adorable piglet; that's an amazing story! What do you plan to do with the piglet (do you know yet?)?

Hoping he does well. I'll have my vet castrate him and try to find him a pet home when he is older. Meanwhile, as he grows up a bit, he can till up my garden :D

How big do these get? It's a wild boar, right?
I'm hoping he isn't. There are mixed breed piglets that are born with stripes. Being wild, he would have very limited possibilities. Wild boar don't grow so big as domestics. I think most of them are mixes in Florida.

It certainly looks like a wild boar.
