dog found my "lorp's nest....aughhhh

It took two weeks to find her new nest after she moved it the last time. I've clipped this hens' wings and I still can't keep her in the fenced area.
Now the dog found it, and has egg shells all over his face. What can you do to stop a dog from eating eggs??

It's probably my fault, as a couple had fallen from the counter, and I removed the shells and let him have them. Guess he could still recognize them, eh?

I have never tried this personally, but heard that it works to stop egg-eating dogs:
Blow out an egg leaving a shell with small openings in the ends.
Fill the egg with either spicy mustard or hot sauce using a syringe.
Plug the holes in the ends.
Leave the egg out for the dog to discover.
One taste and problem solved.
