Dog gashed side from bouncing into chicken run - graphic pics

The little guy is a mini schnauzer mix.
Gracie is a people person too. She wanted to greet everyone at the vet's - not paying attention to her gaping wound.
They gave her an anti-inflammatory which is supposed to help with pain too. She is doing better than yesterday. In fact, I took her out to potty and she wanted to romp in the snow. I was like calm down, you've got a few days before you're going to be playing in the snow.

She was doing well until last night she jumped up onto the couch to be on my lap (almost 100 lbs lap dog) and pulled some stitches. We will be calling the vet this morning. :(

If you are open to alternative modalities, ie Homeopathy -
Arnica Montana 30C pellets available online, in health food stores and in some pharmacies. This will help with the pain and stimulate faster healing since she has reopened the wound a bit.
It is an excellent first aid remedy to have for yourself, children and pets. Because accidents happen! Best wishes to you both. :D

Thanks, I will look into it.

They wanted me to drop her off. So she us currently at the vet's. I don't want to rush them this time.
She's always been very spunky and rambunctious. This was calm Gracie. Lol She actually jumped up onto the bed the first night, though in hindsight we should have crated her to rest more and insisted she stay down. We never thought of her not jumping up - and we weren't given instructions for her not do so. :( We kept her calm in other situations though.
I looked into alternatives just in case the stitches reopen, but I wanted to give it one more chance. The area is right behind her front leg, so I'm sure there is a lot of tension on the stitches.

So, the vet put a lot of staples along the incision. When I looked at it, it seemed like at least a hundred. I dont think I'm exaggerating that much, but haven't counted them. When I counted the stitches, I only counted about 12. I counted each X as one. I haven't taken a pic yet as she seems to be in too much pain to mess with her rigt now. When she's not sleeping she is constantly whining. More so than when we first brought her home Saturday. I have provided her with a cold compress and she doesn't seem to mind it.
I'm going to see if I can find the Amica Montana tomorrow that @biophiliac mentioned. There are some health food stores that sell supplements in the area. I read one article that also suggested turmeric for pain relief. @biophiliac would that work for her if I can't locate the Amica Montana?

Turmeric is also a good antiinflammatory that I use - can't hurt.
I think the Arnica would help her pain - in the middle of this image is a blue and white tube of Arnica Montana 30C, by Boiron, probably the likely brand you will find. Whole foods carries it or check other health food stores.

Tip 3-5 pellets directly from the cap into her mouth and hold her muzzle closed for a few seconds. They just taste like sugar. Give once or twice a day for 3 days if needed.

Thanks! We are no where near a whole foods *gasp*. We have an Amish population and they tend to have small shops with nothing but vitamins and supplements. It was too busy today to squeeze in anything else, so tomorrow I will give it a shot to try to find some.
