So we are about to move and there is an old concreted dog kennel on the property. We were hoping to use it for our flock. Currently, we let them free range in the late afternoon but probably will not for the first few weeks so they can get used to their new home. Any thoughts on using the kennel for the coop and run?

Lucky you!
It looks like a perfect run. Not sure where you are but you may need to add netting to the top.
It sounds like your flock is older and experienced, it helps if they're trained.

Sure, just get a pickup load of aged wood chips to lay over the concrete.
I use a dog kennel for my chickens.
You'll need some 1" chicken wire 2' tall to keep in chicks less than 6 weeks old.
Do you have a secure coop to roost at night.
If not you'll need 1/2 inch hardware cloth over the top to keep out Raccoons.

Love it! Are those California Grays? We have a plastic coop on a metal stand that we will use. I was thinking about putting something over the top of the kennel too.

You'll need Hardware Cloth (1/2") around the sides about 2 feet up to keep the Raccoons from grabbing your chickens through the wire. As long as you have a secure coop for the night then you should be OK. Chain link will only keep out the big boys.

No they're Barred Rocks.
My coops are secure, I needed covering because of Coopers Hawk. So I used Deer netting over the top. It won't keep out mammals though.
I also am raising some ISA Browns 14 weeks old.

I have 2 California Grays which are a cross between a Barred Rock and Leghorn. They look like your birds; however mine are not very common.

here's some google images of a dog kennel run w/ roof -

and a 10x10 dog pen we used a CP and tarp to cover for our dogs. For chickens, we'd need to add smaller wire over chainlink and cover the rest of the pen (different heights and widths apart)...
