We just installed a 10x10x6 dog kennel as extra room to our run/coop. My problem is I have no idea how to "cover" the openings around the gate to the kennel? Could those of you that are using a dog kennel please share pics and/or suggestions to predator proof this area? Also, what did you use for the top so birds of prey can't swoop down? My thoughts were bird netting? We have some that we use for our grape vines. Is that suitable? Thanks
Probably a little tough to see, but we overlapped the hardware cloth on the fencing portion with the hardware cloth on the gate. The white wire over it is a closet or greenhouse shelf as the overlap isn't perfect - we get a lot of mileage out of these wire shelves! It does mean the gate can only swing inwards.
On top we have heavy duty bird netting, as we get some snow I went with 2" openings so snow can fall through cleanly.
