Dog missing, presumed eaten

I would keep an eye on your little friend. My neighbor has had a real problem with bob cats dragging her barn cats away, and they weigh more than 5 pounds. She lost her 3rd cat yesterday, the bob cat came up on her wrap around porch and snatched it while she watched from the window, there have also been other reports of missing dogs and cats in our area

Thank you, yes, I also have a great Pyrenees ...He was asleep in the barn at the time. I have to go kick him out of there every night . My little dog gets in under the porch that is inside his yard. You would never know he was there. I even looked with a flashlight! But I plan to beef up his fence and be more vigilant when he is out. We have so many predators ! DH saw a mountain lion once, and others have heard it screaming. And we do have coyotes, you hear them every night. Plus all the usual nasty coons and so on. The reason I thought a fox took him was seeing it in the back yard. Thank heavens he is still with us.:)

it would have to be a heck of a fence to keep predators out and away from him. Don't forget that hawks/owls can and will attack small dogs as well.

My dogs only go outside to potty......2 shepherd mixes, a chow mix and a toy poodle. I usually just go out with them and stand watch so I can clean up after them. But if the toy poodle is taking too long, I may leave her out there......with a big dog to keep watch. We have coyotes and foxes here, not to mention stray dogs. While it is fenced, it is only 4 foot fencing, anything could jump over and grab her and then jump back over and be gone.

Glad to see your dog is still around! From now on, stay outside and keep watch during potty time.

we shot a 376 # black bear last year a coupla nice sized bears like this would make a fairly quick meal out of a rottie and probably have a little left over for the cubs. a young girl close by shot 450+ bear season before last with her daddys 12 gauge off the back porch she was afraid for her dog.
