Dog-sitting issue

I probably wouldn't even have replaced the dog bed. Obviously if the dog chews stuffed animals it could be expected to chew a dog bed. The bed is enough.

Replacing the bed is the social obligation, but what about either making or buying some toys as a babysitter "Thank-You" gift? You can make toys by braiding old t-shirts into pull toys. Just make sure you sew the braids well. These are surprisingly durable. You might try some yourself.
