Dog took a chunk out of my duck....will this heal on its own?

My pug ripped a mouthful of skin and feathers out of my mama duck’s chest when she got too close up his bone. I’ve disinfected it, and she seems completely normal now apart from the bloody hole. Will it scab over? Should I do anything else? Cant really isolate her alone because she has 6 ducklings, but they aren’t with any other birds.

Poor baby. Could you trim some feathers around the wound so we can see how bad it is? Is it still bleeding?
I would call your vet. Can you get her any antibiotics?
If it starts oozing or anything you'll need to get her to the vet asap.
Looks like she'll be okay though.
Just keep an eye on it and keep it clean for now.

I will check it in the morning and see if I can get a better pic. It stopped bleeding and I smoothed the feathers away from the wound so they don’t stick to it. I don’t think it could be stitched but I am a little worried about infection!

Need to worry about flies getting in the wound and laying eggs then you have maggots which isn't a good thing to have.
She and her ducklings need to be kept away from where the flies are [which this time of year is everywhere outside] I'd trim her feathers some to keep them out of the wound.
