I too had a neighbor problem with a dog, two actually. After several 'talks' I put the word out that dogs on my property messing with any of my animals would be shot. I did check with my ordinances and I am completely within my rights to do that to protect my livestock from predators on my property. In my case that was all it took. He kept his dogs in a fenced yard from then on, I guess he believed me. Another option is to trap the dog yourself and turn it in to animal control. I have done that also. When they have to pay the fee to get their dog back that sometimes works also. Some people are very irresponsible and clueless. My preference is not to shoot the dog, it's just being a dog. It's 100% the owners fault. But you have to do what you have to do. I also have a donkey with my smaller livestock, and he will gladly dispatch a dog.

Yeah, our neighbor built a small fence. I’m happy but it seems to short. I feel the dog could easily jump it and run back to my property. I talked to our neighbor....but it didn’t go so well. I’m going to save up money and build a fence.

But let’s just hope the dog doesn’t come.

Paint ball gun....It hurts but won't kill the dog...I chased my neibour and his stupid Dog off my property with a large fanned leaf rake.......Dog was after my Chicken, owner was in the way...Needless to say neither came back...That was a year ago...Even those air guns work ...I must of looked like this guy if he had a rake in his hand.......Lol....I'm the crazy Birds lady.....

my avatar is a a light Sussex chicken .
Her name is March and I owned her several years ago.
I raised them for a couple of years and now I'm trying to put the gene pool back together again after I dispersed the flock . it's looking good .they just started laying today .
