Dogs and heat cycles?

Okay i was looking at those diapers. And we dont have alot of stray dogs a male collie runs around alot but he is neutered so i dont have to worry. I have a invisible dog fence and a tie out. We will not be leaving her home alone for more than a hour at most when she is in heat. Thank you for the information though.
Perfect! Your welcome.
I would just supervise her while she's outside. Sounds like you have a good setup though. :)

A diaper etc may not stop her from being bred .Dog will pull it off if she not monitored. If you got a secure kennel best bet. However I seen B tches britches before Leather with buckles with stainless steel screen wire .Been long ago seen a feller had it on his dog.Dont know where he got it but he said it worked great.Cheers

Definitely, 100%. A diaper will not stop a male dog. If they don't rip it right off, they'll just move it aside.

She will be supervised outside when she is in heat. She hasnt ever been left outside unsupervised unless she is on her tie out leash. But we check on her every 5 min.

21 day cycle as you know.last 7 days sure nuff take.Best of luck with the dog cheers
Thank you!! She is such a sweetheart. Here is a picture of her.

Pretty girl! You're wise on waiting to spay. My vet doesn't recommend spaying until at least 2 years of age. When my girl goes into heat I just try to keep her supervised and don't let her out of her big kennel unless I put the male dog in. But she's an outside dog so it's a little different.

I was looking into the spaying a little more. And we asked a few people who had goldens. They all waited till a year and a half to two years to spay them. So that is why we are waiting to spay her. We dont have another dog so it makes it alot easier and most of our family has female dogs to. Except my aunt has her brother

So she went into heat today. We got one diaper from the local pet store. But we will have to order more seeing how much she has bled in 3 hours. Thank you all again for all the helpful info.
