Dogs are killing my ducks and chickens. How do I safely repel them? Ultra sonic?

My yard is fenced but the drive way has a 12 foot gap and I can’t install a gate.

A dog has 3x wipes out 30 ducks. I talked to the owner but it continues to happen.

It usually happens at night and it’s not always the same dog.

I don’t want to be mean to the dog, just keep them out.

Any ideas?

Honestly, it is clear the dog(s) are killing for sport. These dogs are a clear danger to any flock you own or aquire as well as any smaller pets they encounter.

They need to be put down. If you can't do it yourself, at the very least report them to animal control.

I’m sure it’ll help. I don’t want to deal with the cost of electricity or dogs invading my personal property by installing something electric.

Get a solar charger for the electric fence, then. No extra cost for the free electricity to keep it charged, after the initial investment for the hardware. It's not meant to keep the birds in, it's meant to keep the predators OUT! This is a common type of fencing for homesteaders to use around their livestock, so the solar chargers work.

If dogs where doing that to my birds...no one would ever noticed those dog went missing forever.

Agreed. In my neck of the woods, there are plenty of locations to bury a dog's carcass and no one would know where it ended up. LOTS of farms that the owners don't mind burying an animal because it turns into fertilizer, eventually, as it decomposes. In fact, there are vet offices that contract with those farmers for disposal of animals.

Do you have a pic of the gap maybe I can think of something to place there. I have a PVC pipe by mine
