We live on a circle in the country but we live in a country suburb of sorts. We have an acre privacy fenced in backyard. So does our neighbor and we share a fence that belongs to them. They have about 13 large dogs they keep inside and let out to go to the bathroom. They managed to tear through their fence which is in need of repair due to age and neglect. The wife and daughter next door did come and try to remove their dogs but there are so many of them. They did seem genuinely upset about it and apologetic. Now I'm not SugarDuck, I'm her husband. When I got home we paid them a visit. I told them bluntly that this time it was ducks but next time it might be our children (we have 6). Our youngest is only 15 months old and probably not much bigger than our jumbo Pekins. My wife knows where the shells and the shot gun are now. If their animals enter our yard again they will be carried out and highly likely so will anyone else that enters. We didn't ask for any money but instead told them to fix the darn fence or next time something will get shot, county cops will be involved, animal control and a court date will ensue. They again were very apologetic and seemed very upset. They did work on the fence some but only time will tell. The chickens and ducks that we have are not only for my wife and I but for our kids as well. One of our sons has Aspergers (under the Autism Spectrum). He really enjoys the animals and makes him calm. All of them have learned valuable lessons in life from them.
