If it were me, the dog would most certainly die of lead poison the first chance I got.Just posted this on another thread but wanted to get it out there again so everyone would see it.
Our nabours dogs dug under our chain link fence then tore a hole in the chicken wire on to separte pens and killed 20 or more ducks and chickens. All we have left are 4 chickens and 1 duck. I live in alabama is there any legal action I can take. We've given them the chance to get rid of the dogs but they haven't. The dogs even came back the next night to kill the cats. That's how we knew it was there dogs. We've had most of the chickens for 6 or more years. And they could care less. It makes me sick. The only time anything like this has ever happened was when my own dog killed 5 of the chickens and I found him a new home the next week. So they can't just ask I don't like there dogs I got rid of my own dog for the same thing. What can I do? I'm lost.
Being an animal lover myself I understand your feelings. However, as I've said before when you take on the responsibility of raising a flock, you are responsible for protecting them.I've thought about killing them trust me. I'm to much of an animal lover
I am so sorry for your loss. Dogs killed 14 out of 16 chickens last week on our property. Chased and killed two in our garage. Turned on game cam and caught them returning to scene of crime. Turns out they are good friends of our family. How much is fair to charge them per bird? I'm thinking 20 dollars per bird times 14?
