Doktor Doom application on chickens?

Hi all,

Can anyone specify how they apply Doktor Doom on their chickens? It says to mist the chicken, but do we have to cover their eyes? How long do you spray for? I’m also worried that they will ingest the product when they preen.

Hi! This product actually can cause respiratory issues and make their eyes burn. I suggest using a natural remedy for mites/lice. They have a great spray at tractor supply but it’s sort of expensive. We use wood ash and it suffocates the mites/lice. You should get some wood ash and sprinkle onto the coop floors/ roosts and if you want to onto the chickens back. If they digest a small amount it’s fine, it’s like grit.
