I had used the heating pad (MHP- Momma Heating Pad) brooder method in the past but was never quite happy with the layout.
I stopped into the dollar store this week and found these wire baskets that were the perfect size. I clamped the heating pad between two of the baskets and clipped a hole in the lower one for easy passage. I finished with two small clamps two raise one side of the brooder.
1. The heating pad is wrapped in sticky cling wrap to protect it. Here it is clamped between two baskets.
2. Here I've sniped out a few of the wires to create an opening.
3. Added feet in the front.
Voilà!
