Dolomite lime and chickens

First, if this is posted in the wrong spot, please feel free to move it or let me know.

Second, I live in the wonderful Pacific Northwest, and I am always battling moss. I want to "sweeten" up the grass in my yard by putting down dolomite lime, but will it hurt my birds that have free run of my property? I have another pen I could put them in, but I'd rather just let them run as normal.

Hi there,
I did a bit of research for ya - backyard herds states it's ok to use dolomitic lime in chicken coops. Also there is an article somewhere on this site under managing your flock.....happy hunting! Sue
