I once loved baseball when I was very young. My favorites were Stan Musial (sp.) and Ted Williams. I am still in awe of Ted Williams because his career was interrupted twice: WWII and Korea. AND he still set records. And they did it without "enhancements." According to the report, Dom Dimaggio was a real gentleman on and off the field. Everybody loved Yogi. We were in his old St. Louis neighborhood years ago and his statement that when you come to the "Y" in the road, go straight, was exactly correct. It was funny!

I stopped watching baseball about 5 strikes ago. There was a time when baseball players were gentlemen on and off the field. Clean cut, clean shaven. Remember when all players, baseball, football, basketball, college and pro showed up on the team bus with suits and ties? Now they look like thugs I wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley.

Baseball is the only sport without a clock. "It ain't over 'til it's over"

The "boys of summer" have all grown up but what wold their momma's say about what they have become??!!
