Is there normally a dominant duck? Our ducks are going on only 3 weeks old and are biggest duck of the bunch (Appleyard) seems to be bringing some attitude already. He pecks at the other ducks and also does not like it if they are not all together, if we are holding one he will sit and chirp until we put it down and it is by his/her side.

It shows that he/she will be protective, not necessarily aggressive.
Is it aggression if you're picking up birds from the flock? Maybe?
Is it aggression when you walk up to them and he/she fluffs up and hisses and bites? Yes.

I had one like that. Swore it was a boy due to its dominant behavior. Turns out Pete is just a really bossy girl. She even picks on my male duck who is significantly larger than her sometimes.

Oh that is funny! I kind of thought maybe this one was a boy cause it is the biggest of the bunch also.

My biggest girl is DEFINATELY the boss at 4 weeks old and always has been. She is also super protective. When the smallest duck got it's foot stuck in the fencing of the enclosure, she started pacing and yelling until I came to the rescue.
