I have a new backyard coop, 2 hens and one rooster. I have one sex-link hen and two barnyard mix bantams, one of which is an adorable little rooster.

The bantam hen is timid as can be, but the sex link hen is huge in attitude and stature.
The sex-Link hen and the bantam rooster seem to spend a lot of time working out whose boss, and I'm not sure who's top chicken.

Does anyone have experience with bantam Roos and large dominant hens?
Ive read that size isn't an issue generally for breeding. I just feel a little bad for the little rooster (named scramble), getting bossed around by the big girl lol.

Size is not an issue (generally) unless the roo can't figure out how to hit the bulls eye. However, I want to ask you this: If you keep your banty roo as a breeder, will you be happy with the chicks he produces? They will most likely be much smaller than your LF hen. If I had LF hen(s), I'd want a LF roo as a breeder so the future generation would have some good size and produce some large eggs. If that doesn't matter to you, then keep your banty.

FYI, when I started my first flock when I was 12 y.o. I started with bantams hatched in school incubator, and then added LF hens to that. My banty roo (Aunt Alma) bred every hen well, regardless of size. He was a scrappy little dude, particularly battling rubber boots and stuffed monkeys with great gusto.
