Haha, that's funny. At least one of my guys has started and the first few times we heard him we looked around for something dying. He's no American Idol![]()
Last summer when a male orp started crowing, it sounded exactly like "Homer Simpson" shouting "WooHoooooo." It always made me laugh. This summer we have a male that started crowing at 12 weeks, then started mating the hens at 14 weeks. I kept wondering what was going on when I found fertile eggs (no roo), then I witnessed him in action. Even now at 5 months, he leaves the pullets of the same age alone & only goes for the hens.Haha, that's funny. Are dominique hens towards the top of the pecking order in a mixed flock? I have a flock of doms and one dark brahma cockerel and all my pullets boss him around. I was wondering because they tend to be so mellow towards humans just was wondering if they're the same or different to other chickens. Thanks.
