Dominique vs. Barred Rock

What's the difference in these two breeds?

They look so similar to me!

dominiques have rose combs and barred rocks have single combs. That is the only difference i know of.

and dominiques have white legs while barred roacks have yellow legs.

My BRs have black on the front of their legs. Is that typical?

Actually, they both should have yellow legs. The Cuckoo Marans should have flesh colored legs.

Actually, the barring is different, with the Dominique having less precise barring. The Barred Rocks should have crisp barring, but one doesn't see that on hatchery stock. There is also supposed to be significant shape or type difference but again, hatchery stock doesn't show that.

99% of the hatchery/feed store type birds are indeed virtually the same except for the comb.
If one looks at true bred Doms and true bred Barred Rocks, they are quite stunning.

Hatchery stock? Not likely much, if any, difference in temperament.
