So i am gonna do the dominique page and wondered if anyone had pic's of chicks, hens, roo's, and teenagers. Oh yeah and eggs~

I am gonna give away a 3 month GFM to the person who helps me the most with pic's and personal info on raising them. Like your experiences, likes and dislikes~

thanks,

I want some so bad. I just don't have space for them right now. I wish you the best on your work with the page.

Hi
Here is a pic of a roo I bought as a chick from Mr. Bob Berry or bobsbiddies here on BYC. My aunt has him now. note his spike on his comb has been dubbed

I bred and showed doms for a while, they were great birds but I needed room to expand on my silkies so I sold them off.

Nice type on that bird. Why did you dub his comb, that point is required for showing.

They were great tempered birds, fairly docile for such a large breed. They were strong breeders that produced an abundance of chicks for me each year. They're easy to sex by around 2-3 weeks, with the males having a higher percentage of white in the barring and the females having a higher percentage of black. Many say that if it hatches with a big white spot on the head and fairly clean (little shading) legs that it's a male, and if it had a darker head and shading on the legs that it's a female. I've found that this is reliable only about 70-75% of the time. I have a few pics of my doms here (I appologize for the quality of the pics): http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v453/jmr8891/Dominiques/?start=all

HI

Sorry about the comb, but in my opinion it makes them look better and this was a batch I bought to grow off and resale started pullets, so I wasn't concerned with showing. I cut it when he was very young so it didn't hurt of bleed much and I took care of the cut afterwards. But if anyone buys chicks from bobsbiddies they will have the spike. Again I'm sorry if I have upset anyone.

I did not keep any of them for breeding, so I can't comment on their pros and cons as layers and breeders.

OMG I love my Dominique. If I had known how wonderful they are I would have ordered more.

Very friendly, quiet, great layer, large brown egg and they are a heritage breed so is nice to have some heritage in the flock.

Here are pics of my Domino.

She loved to snuggle in my robe pocket on the deck with me while I drank my coffee in the mornings....then she got too big for the pocket and just snuggled in my robe

I nearly lost her a few months ago....I called specklehen panicked and we talked it out on the phone and determined she was choking on something. Three days of olive oil, soft foods and etc and she worked it out and was back to normal. She scared the daylights out of me.

This is her during recovery...standing on my daughter's bed. She slept with Cheyenne every night in a little box right beside her bed.

They are super confined or free ranging.
