Dominiques

Our Dorothy will lap sit and agree to be carried around as long as anyone is willing:

I have 19 week old Doms. I started out with six. Three had great tailfeathers, three did not. They looked so different, I thought I might have different breeds. One of mine died so now I'm down to 5. The "tail-less" ones have improved somewhat, but still don't look the same as their more endowed "sibilings."

Mine haven't started laying yet, although their wattles and combs are turning red, so I can't say anything about egg production.

I have had mine since they were a day old and have held them constantly but they do not like it. They run away squawking when I try to pick them up. They like to be near me, but never jump up on my back or lap. I can get a couple of them to sit on my arm if they're up on a roost and I slide it under their chest.

I wouldn't call them cuddly, but they are pretty friendly.

At 24 weeks old, mine are the same size as my Australorps, they are supposed to be smaller so I kind of expect my Aussies to keep getting bigger as they get older; I guess time will tell on that.

I agree, my Dominiques are very, very friendly.
I take photo's for my Esther Winnie thread once a week and it's hard to get passed the Dominiques, who want all my attention

Of my four breeds, it's a close call between the Dominiques and the EE as to who is the more friendly.
