And here we have the completed chicken. Might take another photo of this, as I'm not sure what's going on with the shadow across it. **Shrugs** mIght have been my computer and the desk lamp casting it.

Candled the six remaining quail eggs and it looks like 2 are fertile. Not 100% sure. If anything hatches on Thursday (My Birthday to boot!) I'll be ecstatic

hope you get your birthday wish! -- I have 20 button quail eggs in my new incubator from the guy in Toronto -- so I'm hoping for at least 2 or more chicks around Feb 16 - 20th

Candled the eggs again. Looks like one egg miiiight be fertile, but I'm suspecting they're all duds. The one egg I thought was okay is very dark and I can't see anything on the inside. I'll know for certain if anything hatches on Thursday-Friday-Saturday.

Found someone who sells quail eggs - both eating and hatching - a 30 minute drive from my place. Guess who I'm getting my next batch of eggs from? . Squeeeeeee!

As for the conures - they're double clutching I think. Saw a few eggs in the nest box again. If they're indeed fertile this time and I don't have two hens, I will be ecstatic

It is me Clucky on a new account.
She WAS a pretty bird. A hawk killed her about a month ago. I hatched her eggs though. Now I have some babies! 2 to be exact.
