Dong Tao Vietnamese chickens

Dont let the media dictate that price. That was the price one man set on one of his quality pairs at the new year festival in Vietnam. The price of the chicken can be far less. Some farms will sell some juveniles for less that 100 or adults of less quality for a few hundred a pair.

But would they sell to a westerner for those prices?

However, vietnam has some law in trying to keep those birds within the country but its also a highly corrupt government and you can just bribe or pay whoever to look away.

Sell us live birds? We are westerners so they think we have pockets of cash. In actuallity, they will probably try to milk whatever they can out of you

Basically that's it, and even if you manage to somehow purchase some in Vietnam, they run about $2500.00 a pair.

And even if the OP finds some and does buy them, they'd have to stay in Vietnam. Importation of poultry, from hatching eggs to live birds, is currently banned.

Not entirely, there is an extensive paperwork process for importing them even with the AI threats. Just like we have some immigrants from North Korea despite the conflict lol. Ultimate Orpingtons is going through the importation process. Even if they get incinerated, just have a vietnamese friend send it to a mexican friend wbo sends it to you in USA. Poultry is still allowed to be shipped from mexico, and they seem to be substantially more lenient on their importation or postal practices.
