My silkie bantam was laying an egg while i was setting up the winter gear in the coop and she pulled two americana eggs and our other silkies egg under her. well i took the eggs like normal, didn't think about it but she was watching. the next day i came in to find that she had not layed an egg. i squated down to...talk to the chickens( I know i'm crazy!!) and i saw our americana/EE was pushing around a very small silkie egg out in the run. i ran around to get the egg and the silkie that layed it attacked me!!!!! It was not a little bite it was a ferosious bite more than once and she guarded it with her body then all the hens gathered around and attacked me!! Why did she do that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
