DON'T send your 25 year old Daughter to TSC, to pick up Feed, during Chick Days. July 22 thru Sept. 22...

We just needed Feed! We told Amanda, No more Chickens until next spring. She said she understood and just wanted to " Look " at the the new Chicks. Amanda has been in love with Cochins. Says they look like they are wearing Bell Bottoms from the 70's. We ran the risk that TCS may have a selection of Cochins but since we gave Amanda limited funds, we figured, Nothing to worry about. She does not have the money for the $4.50 each Female Cochins they charge.
Well the trip was successful and Amanda brought home the feed. She goes on to explain that TSC did, in fact, have Cochins and they were labeled $4.50 each. As she stood watching the playful Peeps. A TS Associate walked up and asked if Amanda wanted to buy any Cochins? Amanda told her No as she didn't have the money. The Associate replied that, These were over a week old and they are On Sale for $1 each.
Long story short. We have 8 female Cochins and 2 Female Production Reds. They were the last two and Amanda just couldn't leave them behind! Here we go again...JJ :barnie

Thanks. We are not that upset. But we just moved the 9 -16 week old Chickens from the indoor Brooder to the newly finished Coop, 2 weeks ago. So we now have 19 all together. We are going to modify the Brooder so it can go out in the coop. The older birds will be able to see but not touch the chicks. Hopefully this will make the introduction in 4 or 5 months, when the little ones are a similar size, go smoothly. The adults are Jersey Giants and 4 Gold Laced Wyandotte...JJ

Your Daughter must exercise incredible self control. If that was one of my girls, we would be adding Coops to house one or more of every breed that came in...JJ
She doesn't live at home anymore, one plus lol. She takes in all the sick or injured, and has gotten used to being around them so much that she only picks out the incredibly cute ones. I just don't visit her at work as much when they have them in!

Yes, she does. That how we ended up with our first batch of 10 Chicks, back in April. Amanda went to TSC for stuff for our 3 dogs and her 8 Cats! 3 adults and 5 kittens. Thank God, TSC does not sell Goat Kids or Lambs!!!!
Thankfully, All three Girls are Bargain Hunter's. They have come home, from Thrift Shops, with nearly new Designer Clothes for pennies on the dollar. Mom raised them right...JJ
