We just had a hatch on Monday and early Tuesday, and ended up with a few eggs that didn't seem to be doing anything but we left them in the incubator "just in case". This morning I noticed some pipping in one of the eggs and within a couple of hours we had a healthy chick hatch 3 days after the hatch date! Boggles my mind, but it just goes to show you that you never know how long some of them will take...

You know, that gives me hope because I have some Buckeyes hatching right now, and I candled before lockdown and I know they looked ready. Problem was, I forgot to write the set date on my calendar, so I was probably off on my lockdown.......I locked them down on Saturday, and I just had one hatch yesterday and some of the others have pipped now.

So your message has given me hope! :)

That's exciting. I have 10 more eggs in my incubator and none are pipped. Today is hatch day. I was going to give them until tomorrow but after reading this thread maybe I'll give them until Monday.

Definetly give them more than 1 day. Monday should be fine Crossed fingers on this end...cva34,

If they don't hatch by 4 ays after hatch date then I would assume they are not going to hatch. Although, you should candle them before doing anything with them.

how long is too long to give them.... i have 1 at day 24 today and it looks like its mid development, its moving in the egg.
