Today was interesting. My son was out with the chicks and guineas while they were free ranging and one guinea got spooked about something and started to take off. My son was following her but trying not to chase her as to not scare her more. She got pretty far away and went down a hill. By the time my son got there she was no where to be seen. There is a creek at the bottom of the hill and he thought maybe she landed in there. After he told me what happened I went to check out the area but could not find her. I went back to where all the others were and counted probably a hundred times, only 19 guineas. I got online to see if guineas could swim and after searching the area more and looking in trees I gave up thinking she got in the creek and went downstream. The rest of the day I kept my fingers crossed she would come back before dark and if not she would be gone to a predator if she hadn't already drown. I went out to close the coop tonight after all chicks/guineas went in for the night. The guineas were all roosting so made it easier to count and after counting twice, there is 20. So she came back. Who knows where she was but doesn't matter, she did find her way home.
Just wanted to share so if others ever search they can see that there is always hope.
