Well I don't know if having chickens in my backyard is legal.

I want to get three hen egg layers and the problem is if they are not allowed we have neighbors right beside us that are friends with the people that own this place:mad: We would plant a lot of trees and bushes we already got two trees(fig trees). Plus we put my neice and nephews stuff that they play with on that side of their fence(big stuff like play kitchen and big car play thing). We are getting easter eggers!

Does any one know if easter eggers are really loud? It's not like were getting a rooster. The problem is next year I am going to high school and I am doing ffa. I am doing chickens and if I leave them up at the school I would have to go up there everyday after school and I am already gonna be busy. Since I will be in choir too. Plus I don't have that much time at my house anyway. Expecially when I would be going to church no time at all to go check on my chickens. I will only be getting three chickens.

Texas is a big state. Depends on the county and city. You can go to your county or city website and look under zoning and usually find it. It you live outside the city limits, usually fewer or no restrictions. I had to look under my county website under "animal control" to find the rules where I live in unincorporated county area.

If you get chickens and are not allowed to have them, you will probably get caught eventually. Especially if a neighbor complains. Then you could face a fine or have to get rid of your chcikens.

You could research the topic and use it as part of your and your classmates FFA education.

You sound like you are too busy at this time to care for any chickens. If I am reading correctly your parents are renting the house where you live. If so why bother to plant anything that will stay on the property in hopes of hiding a few hens? Wait a few years then look for a place where you can have chickens. Once you finish school you can re-evaluate your priorities to see if you have time to properly care for living animals.
