I got this supposed Ameraucana (even if she's an Easter Egger, that's ok by me) 8 week old pullet yesterday. She doesn't have a pronounced comb, but her tail feathers look rooster-ish. Should I be concerned or is this normal? TIA!

I'm really not sure but a roo shouldn't have its tail feathers at 8 weeks I believe but it could depend on the breed. I've never had an Americana or an Easter egger before (but I want one!) so idk.

First is a Black Australorp. Second Black Sex Link.

Cockerels.

EE is too young, but the other is a cockerel.

Actually, age of crowing depends on the individual. Some begin to crow at just weeks old, some at 7-8+ months of age. Males that are low in the pecking order might not crow much at all and start much later. The average is probably around six months old.
Does anyone have any idea about a rooster collar for crowing when he does? I don't want to give my girl/boy up :(
