I have a pekin duck that is about a month old. Today he looked like he has blood down his chest but when I picked him up I couldn't find any place on him that he may have bleed from. I am wondering if it came from his mouth or nose. Does any one have any ideas?

Did you pull his feathers apart on his chest to look closely at his skin? it takes a bit of work when they are fully feathered. and now that it's been 7 hrs how is he doing?

Thank you for your reply and concern I feel a bit embarrassed but I have to say It was not blood after all. I saw him attack a tomato out of my husbands garden this morning! Tomato juice every where!

LOL, Thats great news. I had blackberries at the bottom of the garden and my ducks had the juice on their head and chest for days, looked awful .

I freaked out too when I saw reddish pink down his front. I was looking for an injury and then noticed I had forgot I had given him watermelon that morning and it was the watermelon juice down the front of him.

LOL, I saw what I thought was bloody poop on more than one occasion but then realized they had eaten some salad I had make for them. It had tomatoes, red pepper, red swiss chard cut up in it and guess what color the poop was! Scared the heck out of me!
