Don't Leave Your Windows Open!

We don't even need to open the windows for the chicks to think they belong in there! Recently, my neighbor's dog broke through the fence and slaughtered half of my flock. We've been rebuilding the flock and our two newest additions (Rhode Island Red and Americana) thik they belong inside! We we go in, the sit on the sill of the sliding glass door and wait for us to come back out. They are very attached to my wife. Follow her everywhere and jump in her lap whenever she sits down. Too funny!

If I am late with the evening snacks by 5pm the Rooster will be peering in the back door and the girls are right their with him. He fusses until he sees the bowl is ready, And then he leads the girls to their yard. If I don't walk fast enough he will gently bump my walker to tell me hurry, hurry.

Love it! I know mine would do the same thing, too. If I sit in the yard I have all four hens and one roo in my lap and shoulders to where I can't see anything and can barely breathe sometimes (my chickens smell really good and clean, too). If they had a way in the house, I'm sure they'd be in and looking for me in a heartbeat...

My girls peck on the patio door if I'm not out with the treats. Even if I'm outside doing yard work, they'll stand at the patio door waiting. Too funny.
