Don't quite know where to post this...............

I am aware of this and I don't mind hard work.
It's not illegal to keep wild birds in my area.
You might want to do some research on that...

Jackdaws are part of the crow family. If they are native to the United States, it is illegal to keep them.

My opinion is that you should leave it on the ground or in a bush near where you found it so the mother can take care of it. She knows far more than you do about raising them, and it would be better of if left wild.

Oh,my GOSH I've just found a magpie standing in the middle of the road.
It's a baby.
What can I do with it???????
Again - leave it alone and let the parents take care of it. They are far more qualified to do so. Just because you don’t see them, doesn’t mean they aren't there. By bothering it, you could be preventing them from feeding it and caring for it.

This is the season for fledglings. Magpies feed their young for about a month even after they leave the nest. Leave it alone and let nature do what it does.
