If alcohol is consumed moderately and on occasion, then brain damage is highly unlikely. She's clearly not drinking a lot and not very often.
This right here. Amount is everything. It's not like she's cracking open a six pack every night. An occasional glass of wine is not likely to cause any damage.
 
Makes no sense.

Alcohol will eat away at a young brain like maggots on dead flesh.
A friend of my family was instructed by their doctor to let their underweight daughter drink beer (can't remember what kind) to help her gain weight.
I don't think that everyone should drink alcohol and I definitely think that minors should be especially careful with it, but if it's on occasion and in responsible amounts, then I see no issue. I used to put a couple tablespoons of liqueur on my ice cream and in my hot cocoa for a while a couple years back, and while I'm definitely weird, that's not the alcohol talking.
