Rlly?!?! You don't eat themOh I won't eat them either. They are free to a good freezer.
Nope. If someone processes them and someone cooks them I can eat them, but I have to be very removed from the process. I don't know why. I can eat vegetables I grow. But I have a hard time with the birds. I still have frozen meat in the freezer from the last time I had someone process them. I literally gave them the birds and said they could keep the meat for a "processing fee", they felt bad and brought me some. The roommate cooked some and I almost couldn't eat it. She had to threaten me with a cooking implement before I choked it down. It wasn't bad. And I'm sure I'm just being silly, but it is what it is. Maybe if I did it more frequently I could eat them. But I can guarantee I can't process them. I have to call the Homestead Husbands up the road to cull birds for me usually.Rlly?!?! You don't eat them![]()
The skin, when properly baked and crispy, is my favorite part. Definitely couldn't skin them. It would break my heart.Do you pluck and shuck or do you just skin em and go that route?
Sorry, Colt, I think Texas is a little too far right now. I would love to try Muscovy someday, though.Want to road trip to Texas and process a handful of cockerels and muscovy drakes?lol

All snarky comments aside, I enjoyed the read.
I laughed so hard at this description, Aaron. My mother-in-law is the same way.She loves to live in this fantasy world where the cow fairy just magically waves a wand or something and the meat just appears on those little pink squares in the grocery store overnight !!
