Having the ladder fall out from under me was not exhilarating. It was extremely painful and some of the pain lasted well over a year.

Sorry to hear that. Pain is not fun. Neither is finding a rock in the food or a pearl. The pearl was a seed pearl but still a rock. Put me off dinner. Was exciting at the time, I'd never found a pearl in my food before. Almost as much fun as finding bird shot.

I have found plenty of bird shot. Fortunately that was back when bird shot was still lead.
